FLuc mRNA表达了一个最初从萤火虫中提取的荧光素酶蛋白。FLuc在底物荧光素存在下发光，常用于哺乳动物细胞培养用于测检测基因表达和细胞活力。
FLuc mRNA使用了TriLink特有的共转录加帽试剂CleanCap进行加帽，该加帽试剂可产生Cap 1结构，并具有高效的加帽效率。FLuc mRNA是多聚腺苷酸化的，并针对哺乳动物系统进行了优化，模仿完全加工的成熟mRNA。
